Wow, a phone you can get for free or cheap, with a "demo" of Mobile Speak, and you want $200 for that? What planet do you live on?
I mean the N82 is around $300, the E71 cheaper than that, both unlocked, and a demo of a screen reader is free, the last time I checked.
No, the phone is definitely not free. It is 99.00, but with a 50.00 mail-in rebate. So your waiting 6-8 weeks for that. So, final price is 49.95. If you want the USB cord, it's an extra 20.00. I'm including it with the phone free. So, although the phone is locked to at&t, if you don't have at&t service, you need not sign a contract. Plus, the phone comes with an extra battery, that's another 60.00, and a second wall charger, so you are getting your moneys worth for the price.
Actually you can get the data cable on ebay for $5 and a bundle of the data cable car charger and a second ac adapter for $8.and if you go through amazon.com or some other ATT certified reseller that phone is Free, i did get mine free through ATTwireless online but that at one point int time. I still think $200 is too much to pay for a "locked" phone .. That and i just inquired through AT&T warranty department about replacing my phone To which they told me if its not physical damage the warranty replacement is free.. if its deamed physical damage howeever i would be billed the full retail price of the phone . And accordint to AT&T the full retail price of that phone is ......$135..
Oh and i forgot to mention .. that extra battery is also around the $5 point on ebay as well. And yes its the same stuff they will sell you at the att store .. just at an incredible mark up price.
And besides, $200 for a used locked phone or $300 for a new, better and unlocked one. I'm all for free trade and stuff on the Zone and elsewhere, but I want people to post something that is reasonable, I see people so often, on Craigslist and elsewhere, post itemss for way more than they're worth and I just think it's wrong.
With all the stuff I might pay $65 for this, $85 if I was totally disparing and had to have a phone right now, in addition to ATT web site sales Sams Club, buy.com and other big retail stores often have free phones and I am sure you cn get a MobileSpeak compatbile one for free with contract.
to post 7 .. preaching to the choir here... thats the one thing that annoys me about cl is people asking too much .. but i guess thas why they aren't using ebay right? lol
oh and a to clearify since i did stop by the att warranty center to get my phone checked out and exchanged in person .. the full retail value of the 6650 is $115.
I think people on CL so often value the stuff they're selling based on the price they paid for it, not on what it's worth. When you have computer and electronics their value drops really fast, if you paid $500 for a laptop a year ago chances are you can get one twice as good for that price today so the value of yours is really around, may be, $300, not $480 like you think it's worth because you paid $500 for it last year and you haven't used it.
yep yep well said well said i see people do the same thing with music gear even though they don't fall as quickly in value as computers/electronics.
you can get a brand new e71x for 150 with a 50 dollar rebate and its such an awesome phone so yeah there I said it lol
